Notes to remember as we prepare to start a new growing season:

AGM 2015 – Wednesday March 18, Public Library, Coal Tech Room.  6-7 pm. Registration,  7-8 pm. AGM.

– SAFTEY FIRST: kids are always welcome to come along to greenhouse and learn by example about gardening and growing. However their safety is important to you and the greenhouse board.  There may be sharp or heavy items around the greenhouse.  Please keep them under constant supervision.

– NEW COVER:  We have recently retrofitted the South-side greenhouse with a new polycarbonate semi-rigid cover.  The board decided to use a different technology for air circulation on the south side greenhouse by installing two motorized side flaps (controlled by thermostat).  In addition,  an automatic shutter is installed near the top that controls the excess heat controlled by thermostat.  The electrical work is not complete yet but is scheduled to be done before the start of the new growing season.  Once in operation, the air circulation will be controlled automatically and pollination will be facilitated with side flaps open.  We are looking forward to the completion.
