Open House and Work Bee May 4th

On May 4th the Greenhouse comes to life for 2019!

Come join us anytime between 11:00 am until 1:00 pm for our open house and work bee!

This will be a great opportunity to learn more about your local garden as well as meet people from the garden community. You may also come on down to get started planting if you have not already done so!

Don’t forget to bring your work gloves as we’ll have some work to do to get the facility ready to go for the season.

There will be 3 main activities going on during this time.

  1. New member orientation
  2. Plot rental and registration
  3. Work bee (small tasks to get the garden ready for the season)

Not a member yet? No problem! We will be running new member registrations so you can “shop” for your plots and sign up right then and there. Available spots are limited, so be sure to arrive early to ensure you get a plot.

Additional Note: This is a family-friendly event and snacks will be provided.

*BONUS*

Members of the Greenhouse will receive a discount for the Vegetable Gardening – Eat ‘Ems Seminar that is at the Hinton Library.

Christine will cover a lot of ground on what a successful garden requires:  light, soil, types of seeds, watering, fertilizing, maintenance, raised beds, planting and transplanting, insects and diseases, mulching and much more.

Date: May 4

Time: 1:00pm-4:00pm (right after the open house)

Location: Hinton Municipal Library Teck Coal Room
